I’ve found this object in a box full of random older stuff at the flea market. It is an etching on a copper sheet, in negative, maybe used for some printing process. The copper is mounted on a piece of wood. On the back there is something written in pencil, it seems like a child’s handwriting. I tried to google the words, but didn’t get anything. But, looking at the photos, my friend realized there is a really small writing on the engraving. She looked at it with a mirror (the writing is in negative) and after several tries we came up with these words: Metcalfe Barnard Castle. There is such a surname in England and there are people with this name living in Barnard Castle town. Quite interesting and it is also a depiction of one of my favorite beings!
