Pinhole photos on film

These were made a long time ago, with different homemade pinhole cameras. The first camera my friend and I made was out of a plastic toolbox. We were content with it, even if it is not the sharpest. We would tie it to a tripod and stand next to it for long minutes exposing. We looked quite funny and we really enjoyed the puzzled glances of the passers by :).

Another pinhole, that I plan to use again these days is out of a plastic point and shoot. It’s quite convenient because we have of course kept the film advance mechanism of the camera. At first, we managed very well the size of the pinhole, the images were sharp enough, but there were circular and in a black frame (we have masked too much of the part where the lens used to be in the body of the camera).

For the next experiments, we managed to fix the black border thing and get rectangular images, but we have lost some of the sharpness. Anyway, I still like these images and I plan to use the homemade pinhole again soon. Maybe for a new series of self-portraits?
