Autumn

It seems that I only post phone photos lately. But I do hope to finish soon a film and have some nice photos and I have to take pictures of all my birthday gifts this year and post about them here.

This brooch is a fleamarket find from a long time ago, but I don’t think I ever showed it here. Actually, this is the first timeI wear it. The green nailpolish is a birthday gift and I love it.97FA0915-B80B-4BD2-91E0-DEF4423163F650F8EF52-6512-4188-B9AD-84C87990B1AC

First flea market in a very long time

I didn’t’ t go to the flea market in a very long time, maybe since November? It was a cold and busy winter and I didn’t have the energy or the motivation to go, even if it is one of my favorite things to do. But this Sunday was nice and sunny. It was a very good flea market day, with some good finds for my collection, with some relaxing time walking around and looking at stuff and also with some friends met there.
These are the things I have found:
An antique gold plated locket in a very good condition, with the two photos (of mother and sun, maybe) still inside under the clear celluloid). It’s my new favorite from my collection.

An old pocket watch winder that I’ll wear as a pendant.

A glass brooch ( I think it’ from the forties).

This unidentified thing (maybe some fastening for a jacket?). I don’ t know what I’ll use it for, but I liked the acorn like shape and it was very cheap, of course.

An old wood and brass knitting doll for my collection.

And a pretty silver ring.

Forties ring and old brooches

This is what I brought home after a flea market visit in a really hot and stormy day.

I had one of these antique brooches from a while ago. I have found another one for less than 50 cents and in a better shape, with the paint still intact. I think they look nice together. DSCN9430DSCN9432DSCN9435DSCN9437

I also found this plastic mouse with rhinestones eyes (from the sixties, maybe?). Very cute and in a good shape.

But my favorite find is this strange silver ring from the forties. The red and pink rhinestones are really sparkly and I enjoy watching its funny shape on my finger.

New old things

I went to the flea market this Saturday and it was a very good day for finding some of my favorite things.

I wanted such a celluloid bangle for a long time now, I kept seeing them online but never at the flea market. This one is a bit too large for me but the other vintage plastic bangle keeps it on my wrist. I really like how the paint faded in soft pinks and greens. DSCN9186DSCN9188

This beautiful antique souvenir silver brooch has a damage to the first “e” from Venice, but it was to interesting to leave behind. And I have very nice memories connected to Venice, so it makes sense for me to wear it. The dangling letters are more sparkly in reality than in these photos.

This silver wolf pin looks a lot like our dog Souris.

This antique brooch is not silver, although it really looks like silver and it is very detailed. I like the snakes and the tiny jade figure (Buddha?).

I don’t know if this woven wallet from Peru is vintage or not, but it’s really nice.

My favorite find is this big amber ring in an Art deco setting. It has some interesting hallmarks, that I didn’t have the time to research yet. I keep staring at the luminous stone these stressful days.

Snowflake brooch

I wanted one for a long time now. This one is pretty old (I suppose it’s from the twenties or thirties) and quite pretty with its brass base and worn rhinestones. It goes really well with these other two vintage brooches.

Creepy hands

These are some new additions to my mismatched jewelry collection. I especially like the creepy bakelite and silver hands, very cheap finds. I’m sure the bakelite brooch is vintage, I’m not certain how old the silver pendant is, although it was looks like it was used for a long time by someone. When I bought it, I thought it might be antique, but I’m not sure.I like how the bead looks like an apple. DSCN0844DSCN0848DSCN0851I’ve also found these two beautiful old silver bands, an Art nouveau pewter ring and a celluloid owl ring.

This very small and detailed charm is for a bracelet I want to make at some point only with animals and birds. DSCN0854.JPGLinking up with Vintage Bliss Tuesdays and Vintage Charm parties.

Flea market at home

Lately, I went very rarely to the flea market, for different reasons: being sick, being busy, too tired, raining or snowing or being too cold, etc. But yesterday, my mother told me she bought a grab bag for approximately 1 Euro and maybe I would like to check it out. But I didn’t expect a home flea market :). Apparently, it was a huge grab bag and she spread everything out on her sofa. A really absurd and unexpected image :). She had even sprayed everything with disinfectant, so I could safely brows through the small objects. I didn’t have the patience to look through everything (there are mostly uninteresting things from the eighties and nineties, that my mother would sort before throwing out the mismatched plastic earrings and spoons and forks and even one old tv remote control). But I did find 3 interesting, older brooches, one very eighties plastic marbled backed mirror, a metal pencil sharpener and a small pocket knife. The pocket knife was a commercial to chocolate and seemed older to me. Searching it online, it seems it is from the twenties or thirties. Not in perfect shape, with the rust and all, but quite interesting.
